TOWN OF CIRCLEVILLE MINUTES
January 16, 2023
The regular meeting of the Circleville Town Council was called to order at 6:01 PM by Mayor Cordell Pearson. Council Members attending were: Shane Robinson, Stacie Gass, Kristi Westwood, and Shirl Fox. Mekeisia Westwood, Town Clerk was also in attendance.
Public attendees were: Mark Cannon, Ricki Cannon, Sydney Wells, Scott Peterson, and Terecea Westwood.
Mayor Pearson led the pledge and Mekeisia offered the prayer to open the proceedings. Kristi made a motion to approve the minutes from the December 14, 2022 meeting. Stacie seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
Mark Cannon was in attendance asking for a business license for an RV Park. Shirl made a motion to approve the business license. Shane seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Terecea wanted a site permit to build an attached garage to her house. Stacie made a motion to approve the site permit, and Kristi seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
The mayor called on those not on the agenda.
Scott Peterson was in attendance wondering if there was ever a chance for a pickleball court at the new park. The Board discussed that they would like to put one in when the funds are available.
Mayor Pearson had some info about the well. A bid was obtained for the well and they are starting to prepare the process.
The Mayor opened the floor to the Departments.
Planning and Zoning/Cemetery: The cemetery grant is available again. Circleville Town is going to apply for a digitizing and mapping grant.
Parks & Recreation/Economic Development: Circleville Town’s birthday party will be scheduled for March 27, 2023. If anyone would like to volunteer to help with the Easter Egg Hunt this year, please contact Kristi Westwood at 435-616-3695.
Mayor Pearson closed the regular meeting and went into an executive session at 6:37. The executive session was closed at 6:53.
The bills and budget variance reports were presented and reviewed by the council. Kristi made a motion to approve the bills and budget variance reports and adjourn; Shane seconded, and the motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 6:58PM.
