TOWN OF CIRCLEVILLE MINUTES
January 10, 2024

The regular meeting of the Circleville Town Council was called to order at 5:00PM by Town Board member Shirl Fox. Council Members attending were: Kristi Westwood, Stacie Gass, and Shirl Fox. Shane Robinson and Mayor Pearson were excused. Mekeisia Westwood, Town Clerk was also in attendance.

Public attendees were: Kelly Chappell, David Lee, Brett Remund, and Terecea Westwood.

Shirl led the pledge, and Brett offered the prayer to open the proceedings. Kristi made a motion to approve theminutes from the December 6, 2023 meeting. Stacie seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

Kristi Westwood was sworn in as a Circleville Town Board member by Town Clerk, Mekeisia Westwood.

Brett Remund was next on the agenda for a site permit. He is wanting to build a short-term rental next to their existing short-term rental. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended it to be approved. Stacie made a motion, and Kristi seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

The mayor called on those not on the agenda. There were none.

Kelly Chappell was in attendance to give an update on the Water Project. The springs are all done and redeveloped. The well is being worked on.

The State of Utah is planning on making Butch Cassidy’s boyhood home into a State Memorial. They will build new bathrooms that will have running water and power.

The Mayor opened the floor to the Departments.

Parks & Recreation/Economic Development: Circleville Town Board would like to thank Kristi Westwood for her help with taking Santa around town. They would also like to thank Santa Claus and the Grinch for their help, and JT Reitz for driving the fire truck.

Road Department: Shirl is wanting to build an asphalt storage bin. It would be a concrete storage bin where road patch could be stored. Shirl will get a cost and it will be discussed at the next meeting. Shirl would also like to look into creating an alternative truck route around town.

Planning and Zoning/Cemetery: The CDBG grant has been applied for for the cemetery. The bills and budget variance reports were presented and reviewed by the council. Stacie made a motion to approve the bills and budget variance reports and adjourn; Kristi seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:43pm.
